I was trained in London because there is no master’s degree in psychotherapy in France. Only the Master of Psychology exists, during which almost no training in the practice of psychotherapy is provided.
The title of psychotherapist, emptied of its content by the law of July 1, 2010, is thus “given” to anyone with a master’s degree in psychology, even if they have not completed any hour of training in the practice of psychotherapy.
People who want serious training in the practice of psychotherapy in France must therefore turn to private training centers or go to a foreign university; that’s what I did.
